Call for Workshop Proposals

The series of BIBE Conferences was found in 2000 and BIBE is the first leading Conference of its kind in IEEE/Internationally inspiring others to follow its path. The 19th annual IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Bioengineering aims at building synergy between Bioinformatics and Bioengineering/Biomedical, two complementary disciplines that hold great promise for the advancement of research and development in complex medical and biological systems, agriculture, environment, public health, drug design. Research and development in these two areas are impacting the science and technology in fields such as medicine, food production, forensics, etc. by advancing fundamental concepts in molecular biology, by helping us understand living organisms at multiple levels, by developing innovative implants and bio-prosthetics, and by improving tools and techniques for the detection, prevention and treatment of diseases. The BIBE series provides a common platform for the cross fertilization of ideas, and for shaping knowledge and scientific achievements by bridging these two very important and complementary disciplines into an interactive and attractive forum.

Proposals for Workshops

The IEEE BIBE 2019 organizing committee invites proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the conference. The objective of these workshops is to explore focused interest areas and provide international forums for researchers to share their research results for problems in the areas of bioinformatics and biomedical engineering. The BIBE 2019 Workshops are categorized into regular (covering current and future trends)  and tutorial (providing reviews of an emerging technology or application area) workshops. Each workshop organizers must ensure that the accepted workshop will be delivered by a group of leading researchers and pioneers in their respective areas in a half-day format with a nominal fee charged to registrants. Each proposal will be reviewed by the workshop organizers.

Please note that workshop submissions will be included in the digital program of IEEE BIBE 2019 but will not appear in IEEE Xplore Proceedings.  A website will be made available to Workshop registrants to download any materials provided by the Workshop organizer(s). Workshop organizer(s) are welcomed to provide additional material such as handouts to participants during the Workshop.

A proposal for a Workshop must include:

  • Workshop title / type
  • A draft “Call for Papers” articulating the scope and topics covered by the workshop
  • Members of the organizing committee, and if available, tentative program committee

For more details on the workshop proposal, please refer to the example.
